For mapping purposes, it includes a representation of physical elements of both natural and artificial. For reporting requirements of EC water-related directives it includes WFD surface water bodies. For spatial analysis and modelling, it includes a topologically-sound network of rivers and canals. The ExM application schema Hydrography is based on the corresponding INSPIRE application schema. It focuses on the INSPIRE sub-package Physical Waters which uses the feature type HydroObject as central element. The sub-package Hydro-Network is also supported in ExM. The application schema Hydro-Reporting is not maintained, because reporting of hydrographic data following the Water Framework Directive is out of scope of NMCAs.
